A Whole Day Experience about University Life
Al Maaref University hosted more than 40 students from the Al-Mahdi School- Al Hadath on the campus on Wednesday, December 20, 2017, as part of the guidance of the students.
The students were accompanied by the educational counselor in the secondary school, Mr. Mohammed Shmeisani, the "Science" teacher, Mrs. Ahlam Deeb, the "Life Sciences" teacher, Mrs. Zeinab Mazloum. The visit comes part of a university programme, known as "Student for a Day," organized with a range of secondary schools, to assist students on their third secondary year in determining their future and achieving their aspirations in a selected domain of future higher education study.
The students were welcomed by members of the Directorate of Student Affairs: Department of Guidance, Department of Scholarships and Stipends, Department of Admissions and Registration, Department of Student Affairs as well as the Director of the Directorate.
Students were guided to the main hall where they listened to an explanation of the university's vision, mission, goals, and services. They were introduced to the academic systems, faculties and specialisms, stipends and scholarships, and a glimpse into the activities of student clubs.
The students had the opportunity to participate in interactive activities in the university studio and sciences laboratories, during which they learned about the practical process of some course materials at the university.
On completion of the activities, the students met the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering, Dr. Jalal Jomaa and the Dean of the Faculty of Media and Arts, Dr. Ali Takach to answer their burning questions about the majors and specialism in the university.
The visit included a guided tour of the classrooms, the library, the courtyard and other university public facilities and under the supervision of the Directorate of Student Affairs, the students met for breakfast, in a friendly ambiance in the patio of the Faculty of Engineering and Science.
In conclusion, photographs were taken with the professors and the members of the Student Affairs Directorate at the University.
